Design for Ultra Low Carbon and Net Zero Energy of San Mateo County Office Building

About this event

Join SEAONC for our monthly dinner meeting, featuring a presentation on the innovative design and sustainability achievements of San Mateo County’s new government center at 500 County Center — the nation’s first net-zero energy civic mass timber building.

Presentation: Design for Ultra-Low Carbon and Net Zero Energy of San Mateo County Office Building (500 County Center)

The new 5-story, 208,000-square-foot government center in Redwood City, California, sets a new benchmark for sustainability in civic design. The presentation will explore the key structural design strategies and construction detailing decisions that enabled this project to dramatically reduce its carbon footprint while meeting ambitious performance and aesthetic goals.
