Job Shadow Program

Overview

Have you wondered what a structural engineer does and if this is something you want to do? Our Job Shadow program will pair students with an engineer to experience a day in their life as a structural engineer and visit their workplace in person.

What it’ll look like:

  • We’ll match a student and an engineer depending on both’s availability, interests, and location
  • Students will visit the engineer at their office/workplace and spend about 1 hour -1 day on a coordinated date depending on both’s availability.
  • The job shadow may involve:
  • Office tour to observe the engineer’s workplace
  • See projects and daily tasks such as calculations, drawings, and structural models
  • Talk to the engineer about their career journey
