What more can I say of our last meeting, other than it was incredible to see so many of the women of SEAONC come together and share stories about their careers, as well as challenges and triumphs they have encountered in their journeys.

It is hard to believe we are almost through winter and spring will soon be upon us. The last few months have left a chill in the air, though it didn’t put a damper on the members and students who attended our last association meeting. It was amazing to see everyone.

I was hoping that we would get the typical slow start to the year, but it feels like everything has jumped off with a bang! In my conversations with our fine membership, I have heard a full range of stories, with some saying they are busy, while others feeling a bit slower than they would like.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of SOHA Engineers’ beloved founder and friend, Daniel Shapiro, who passed away of natural causes on October 22, 2023, at the age of 98. We will all miss Dan more than words can express.

Our Outreach Committee hosted another great AEC Week with Ignited this June! Seaonc and Ignited partnered with SmithGroup, HENSEL PHELPS & KPFF to host 10 Middle and High School teachers, primarily from underserved schools, complete with lunches and a variety of interactive presentations and activities.
